Following an eight-day trial at St Albans Crown Court, Alex Taylor-Camara secured a unanimous not guilty verdict in a death by careless driving case.
A young driver with an unblemished and impeccable driving record made an error of judgement when leaving the hard shoulder and entering the carriageway too slowly, tragically ended with the death of a motorbike rider who failed to spot the defendant's car.
A vehicle in front of the bike managed to safely avoid any collision, but the bike drove into the rear of the defendants car. The jury said the driving was careless, but the death was not caused by the defendant's driving.
