The defendant, Margaret Morgan, was charged with conspiracy to murder Carol Morgan, alongside the co-defendant, husband Allen Morgan. Margaret Morgan was unanimously acquitted of conspiracy to murder after a nine-week trial at Luton Crown Court.
Co-defendant Allen Morgan was found guilty of conspiracy to murder.
Carol Morgan was killed in 1981 in a shop she ran with then-husband Allen Morgan. The case was re-opened in 2018 by Bedfordshire Police.
