Several Garden Court barristers represent core participants at the Undercover Policing Inquiry.

This week, public hearings for the Undercover Policing Inquiry Tranche 2 (Phase 1) have opened. 

Tranche 2 will hear about undercover policing by the Special Demonstration Squad between 1983-1992. It will hear evidence from some undercover police officers and managers and from some of those affected by the deployments.

On 2 July 2024, Day 2,  our James Scobie KC delivered an opening statement on behalf of core participants Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and Lindsey German, instructed by Paul Heron of Public Interest Law Centre. James leads Piers Marquis of Doughty Street Chambers.
