Stella Harris secures acquittal in murder trial

Stella Harris of Garden Court Chambers represented the 15-year old defendant, led by Mathew Sherratt KC of Thomas More Chambers and instructed by Javed Chughtai of EBR Attridge Solicitors.

Stella Harris, acted for the (then) 15-year-old boy accused of robbery and murder in this trial, which recently concluded at the Central Criminal Court.

Emma Fenn acted for the principal defendant. 

This case involved the implementation of special measures, ensuring the effective participation of the young defendants involved in the trial. 

Expert testimony relating to Drill lyrics was adduced, resulting in the jury being warned in legal directions of the need for caution in accepting lyrics at face value, as a genuine expression of intent, as opposed to the bravado associated with this genre.
