IPCC re-opens investigation into death of Sean Rigg
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has today announced that it has re-opened the investigation into the death of Sean Rigg, who died in police custody in 2008. Following his inquest in 2012, in which his family were represented by Leslie Thomas

Stephanie Harrison QC wins Liberty Human Rights Lawyer of the Year Award

Victim of trafficking acquitted in Court of Appeal
A female victim of trafficking has had her conviction for possession of a false passport overturned in the Court of Appeal. The woman was represented by Shahida Begum.

Court of Appeal rules immigration detention of mentally ill woman unlawful
The Court of Appeal in a test case on Tuesday overturned a decision of the Administrative Court in relation to Home Office policy of detaining those subject to immigration control with a serious mental illness.
