Jacob Bindman acted for the young defendant in this long-running case involving multiple sets of proceedings under s.2 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Having successfully argued that one of the charges did not fall within the definition of a “terrorist publication”, the boy was eventually handed a non-custodial sentence for the remaining offences under s.2 and related breaches of a criminal behaviour order.

This followed extensive work by the defence and instructed experts to set out the young defendant’s complex neurodevelopmental issues.
