Tim Baldwin has been appointed to the INQUEST Lawyers’ Group (ILG) Steering Committee. INQUEST provides free advice to people bereaved by a death in custody or detention, and campaigns on their behalf. The Steering Group plans ILG training, assists INQUEST with policy documents, and suggests and gives direction to various projects.
As part of the Garden Court Chambers’ Inquests Team, Tim has represented the families of patients who have died in detention, and has particular expertise in cases where the deceased was subject to detention for psychiatric care.
Garden Court has long been one of the most committed sets when it comes to providing representation to bereaved families in inquest proceedings, and has worked closely alongside INQUEST in much of this work.
