We are delighted to announce that Garden Court barristers have been shortlisted in the following categories at the Women & Diversity in Law Awards 2026:

  • Amanda Meusz – Mentor of the Year

Amanda Meusz (Call: 1986)
Amanda is passionate about championing trauma-informed training and practice in the family justice system. Amanda won Family Law Case of the Year at the Family Law Awards 2022. She acted for the children’s guardian in the Supreme Court case of H-W (Children) (No 2) [2022] UKSC 17.Amanda was shortlisted for Family Law Junior of the Year at the Legal 500 Bar Awards in 2022 and 2024 and Advocate of the Year in the Women and Diversity Law Awards 2025. She has been shortlisted for Family Law Champion of the Year at the Family Law Awards 2025. Amanda is a mentor and champion for Lawyers Who Care, the UK’s first mentoring organisation for care-experienced aspiring lawyers.

Kate Aubrey-Johnson (Call: 2001)
Kate is one of the leading youth justice experts in the country—an accomplished barrister, mediator, and campaigner. Kate is co-author of Youth Justice Law and Practice (LAG, 2019) and chairs the Ministry of Justice’s Youth Advocacy Working Group. She is regularly called upon to lecture, train, and advise practitioners. As a barrister at Garden Court, Kate convenes the Children’s Rights Team. She is also a SEND mediator and the author of Making Mediation Work for You (LAG, 2012). In 2024, she co-founded Lawyers Who Care, a ground-breaking initiative with Lucy Barnes to support care-experienced aspiring lawyers. She has brought Garden Court on as a founding supporter, with members now acting as mentors to LWC mentees.

Audrey Cherryl Mogan (Call: 2014)
Audrey’s career is defined by her fearless representation of marginalised individuals—her ground-breaking work defending protestors, victims of trafficking, vulnerable children, asylum seekers & refugees, and racialised defendants. She is the go-to junior barrister for protest solicitors. In 2021, Audrey won Legal Aid Newcomer of the Year at the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards, recognising her exceptional contributions to access to justice. Audrey is acting as junior counsel for Huda Ammori, co-founder of Palestine Action, in a historic challenge to their proscription as a terrorist organisation (judicial review recently upheld by Court of Appeal). She is a member of Art Not Evidence, opposing the use of rap lyrics as criminal evidence.
