Rhea’s first-six pupillage supervisor is Nick Bano.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Rhea worked for the Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network (‘LRMN’) where she provided specialist advice and representation across housing, social security and accommodation-related community care law. She is experienced in homelessness and suitability reviews, asylum support appeals and defending possession proceedings against public and private landlords. She also worked to obtain support for victims of trafficking and modern slavery under the NRM framework.
Most recently, Rhea defended professional trade union members in fitness to practise proceedings as a National Officer in the regulatory team at UNISON. She regularly appeared in complex multi-day substantive and interim order hearings and registration appeals, gaining experience in case preparation, presentation, and witness examination.
Rhea brings wider civil litigation experience to her prospective housing practice, having previously worked as a paralegal on high profile serious injury claims arising from historic abuse.
She has a particular interest in addressing intersecting hardships by complementing her prospective housing practice with related areas of discrimination and human rights law.
