'What should we do when we are confronted with great injustice or great evil?', asks Dexter Dias QC. 'Why do we hurt the most fragile things? What are human beings really like?'

Listen to Dexter's talk on how, as humans, we make meaning in our lives knowing that one day our soul will leave our body and we will be a person no more.

Grounded in 30 years' experience as a human rights lawyer and academic researcher grappling with some of humanity's toughest questions, he shares powerful stories of resilience, courage and bravery and tells us why his research leaves him fundamentally hopeful.

Dexter Dias QC is a member of Garden Court Chambers’ Civil Liberties and Human Rights Team.

As of January 2022, the recording has been watched by over seven thousand people.
