Dexter Dias QC was presented with an award for Outstanding Contribution to Law and Advocacy at a ceremony on Saturday 13 June. The evening was organised to raise funds on behalf of the Monitoring Group. Dexter was honoured for his work on the Zahid Mubarek Inquiry, a stream of death in custody cases in which he has exposed serious illegality and systemic failures by the State, and his advocacy in a number of terrorism-related trials. The other two lawyers honoured were Michael Mansfield QC and Gareth Pierce.
