The aim of this seminar is to provide knowledge of recent legal developments and understanding of how legislation and case-law can be used to obtain suitable accommodation and support for Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller families.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Urgent accommodation for homeless families – obtaining accommodation and preventing evictions
  • Suitable accommodation – assisting families to obtain suitable accommodation and challenging decisions on suitability
  • Accommodation under the Children Act – for children and for families who fall outside the Housing Act 1996
  • Support and services under the Care Act and Children Act
