Key provisions of the Nationality and Borders Act 2022 are now entering force – including new substantive law and provisions governing international protection.

Meanwhile, new Immigration Rules will reform the procedures for asylum and humanitarian protection claims introducing restrictions on family reunion rights and enforcing the differential rights afforded to refugees, depending on their route to the UK and their asylum claim's timing. Practitioners also face new Rules governing ILR on the 10-year partner and parent routes.

Garden Court speakers Adrian Berry and Eva Doerr provided expert analysis on these new provisions and rules.
