The School Inclusion Project (‘SIP’) is a forum coordinated by the Garden Court Chambers Education Law Team in partnership with the Communities Empowerment Network, Coram Children's Legal Centre and the Law Centres Network. SIP aims to address systemic discrimination in the education system through policy work and strategic litigation.
SIP convenes quarterly meetings to bring together frontline organisations, policy professionals and legal practitioners to consider pressing policy issues in this area.
SIP’s first quarterly hybrid meeting of 2024 will be held on Wednesday 7 February 2024, 6pm-7.30pm, in person (& online) at Garden Court Chambers.
The meeting will include an update on strategic litigation, including the ongoing judicial review proceedings where the High Court granted permission in a test case challenging the lack of legal aid for school exclusion appeals, as well as a discussion of other pressing issues concerning equality and discrimination in the education system. A full agenda will be made available nearer the time.
