Garden Court hosts book launch for Zimbabwean human rights lawyer David Coltart

Garden Court Chambers recently hosted the book launch for David Coltart, a prominent human rights lawyer and opposition party politician from Zimbabwe.

David’s book, “The Struggle Continues” is an autobiographical political history of Zimbabwe covering the past 60 years. The book includes information about David’s work on uncovering the mass killings of Ndelebe people by the North Korean trained 5th brigade of Mugabe’s army in the 1980s, and the foundation and formation of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). It also covers David’s work as Minister of Education during the power-sharing unity government of 2009-2013 which saw the reopening of schools and a roll out of 13 million text books to children across the country.

The book launch was hosted by Catherine Oborne, a member of Garden Court’s Crime Team and International Team.Catherine was awarded a Pegasus Scholarship by the Inner Temple in order to work on the legal aspects of the book for two months from September to November 2015.
