Helen Butcher of the Garden Court Crime Team was instructed by Alima Tejan-Jalloh of Needham Poulier Solicitors.
Garden Court Crime Team’s Helen Butcher has secured a unanimous acquittal for the first defendant in a county lines drugs case following a 10 day trial at Central Criminal Court.
Helen, instructed by Alima Tejan-Jalloh of Needham Poulier Solicitors, represented a 21 year old of good character accused of controlling a drugs line in Canterbury when aged 19 and of being a North London gang member.
The Crown relied upon extensive cell site evidence which after careful cross examination was considerably weakened.
The Crown sought to rely on evidence of high value items and other articles seized at the defendants address, all of which the defence was able to demonstrate had nothing to do with drug supply.
All 3 defendants were unanimously acquitted.
