In this unusual and high profile case, Henry Blaxland QC acted for a solicitor charged along with two solicitor partners from the same firm, a senior QC and two company directors with conspiracy to defraud Mineral Planning Authorities and the Coal Authority in South Wales. In a lengthy, detailed and highly technical judgment, the defence submissions that the prosecution allegations taken at their highest did not amount to the offence were accepted.

Henry Blaxland QC was instructed by Neil Ross of Glaisyers Solicitors.

This case was reported by the BBC and in The Lawyer magazine.
