Garden Court Chambers is delighted to announce the judicial appointments of Irena Sabic KC and Anya Lewis KC.
Irena Sabic KC has been appointed as a Master in the King’s Bench Division on the advice of the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
Irena’s appointment will take effect from 26 January 2026 and she will be known as Master Irena Sabic KC.
Irena was called to the Bar in 2002 by Inner Temple and took Silk in 2023 when she was also appointed as a Deputy Master of the High Court, King’s Bench Division.
Since joining the Bar, Irena built a distinguished practice acting in high-value, demanding cases and has been a leading member of Garden Court Chambers.

Anya Lewis KC has been appointed as a Circuit Judge and will be known as Her Honour Judge Anya Lewis KC.
Anya was called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 1997, took silk in 2021, and has served as a Recorder since 2019 and as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber) since 2020. She will sit at the Crown Court at Woolwich.
Anya has been a member of Garden Court since pupillage and has made an immense contribution to Chambers, including as Convenor of the Crime Team, a member of the Tenancy Panel, and most recently as Co-Representative for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Anya will be sitting as a Recorder until taking up her appointment on 2nd February 2026.
