Hossein Zahir KC represented Ricky Jones, a Labour Councillor accused of encouraging violent disorder (contrary to section 45 of the Serious Crime Act 2007).

Ricky Jones was accused of encouraging violence with a speech he made at an anti-racist protest in Hoe Street, Walthamstow on 7 August 2025.

The trial took place at Snaresbrook Crown Court from 11 August 2025 to 15 August 2025. The jury returned a unanimous verdict of ‘not guilty’ in less than 30 minutes.
