We are delighted to announce that Letitia Duffus has joined Garden Court Chambers as a new tenant.
Letitia Duffus is a criminal defence specialist with a focus on serious and complex crime, including murder, large-scale drug conspiracies and importation, robbery and fraud.
She is particularly known for her exceptional client care and her ability to support vulnerable defendants and those requiring additional assistance in navigating the criminal justice system. Letitia is committed to fearless advocacy and ensuring fair trial rights are upheld at every stage.
Letitia Duffus brings over two decades of experience in criminal defence, having worked across a wide range of roles before joining the independent Bar. Letitia was initially called in to the Bar in 2006. She qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and obtained Higher Rights of Audience in 2015, building a strong reputation as a Solicitor-Advocate in serious criminal cases.
Letitia has represented clients at every stage of the criminal justice process—from police stations to the Crown Courts to death penalty cases with the Capital Defenders Office in North Carolina, USA. She has supervised solicitors in complex litigation. Her practice spans the north and south of England, and she has developed a strong following among clients and solicitors alike. Letitia’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to justice, client care and fearless advocacy.
Letitia is a member of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. She is a founder member of Women in Criminal Law (WICL), a member of WICL’S Mentoring Committee; and a member of WICL’s Race Equality Committees.
