Mark Muller QC, a senior barrister at Garden Court who took Silk in October 2006, is particularly recognised for his continued contribution to the promotion of human rights and his commitment to the defence of vulnerable ethnic and minority communities. The other nominees in the category of "Human Rights Lawyer of the Year" are Anne-Marie Hutchinson OBE and Shaheed Fatima.

The Human Rights Awards are held annually in commemoration of UN International Human Rights Day, outstanding human rights leaders will be honoured for their pioneering and brave work. This year’s awards will be decided on 10th December.
