Mark Robinson has successfully defended a client charged with assault at Wood Green Crown Court.
The case involved the use of pre-recorded cross-examination under s.28 YJCEA 1999 and the handling of complaint provided through a supporting witness. The prosecution also sought to rely on CCTV footage as part of its case.
Through cross-examination, Mark highlighted inconsistencies within the complainant’s evidence and in his closing speech, drew the jury’s attention to the material significance of the video material.
The jury returned a not guilty verdict by majority.
