Mark Robinson of the Garden Court Criminal Defence Team was privately instructed by Mansouri & Son Solicitors.
Mark Robinson successfully acted for the high-net-worth client in proceedings involving allegations of assault and child cruelty. The defendant, who had previously been represented by another firm, was due to stand trial on both charges.
Following a review of the case, Mark made an application to vacate the defendant’s previously entered not guilty pleas. This was on the basis that the interpreter provided during the police station interview did not speak the defendant’s dialect and the application was granted.
Mark subsequently indicated his intention to make an application to dismiss the child cruelty charge. The prosecution offered no evidence in relation to that charge.
Regarding the allegation of assault, Mark liaised with the officer in the case (OIC) who was present at court and made an application for the assault to be remitted back to the police station so a caution could be administered.
