It was alleged that the defendant had been the lookout outside a pub as the alleged robbery of the Cabelleros’ patches took place. Keir Monteith, defending, argued that his client had gone out to go dining with friends and was sheltering from the rain as he waited for friends to leave the pub where, unbeknown to him, the alleged robbery was taking place.

The prosecution had called expert evidence on the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, as well as presenting CCTV and mobile phone footage. Two other co-defendants were acquitted whilst three were found guilty.

The defendant was represented by Keir Monteith of Garden Court Chambers’ Crime Team, winners of the Legal 500 Crime Set of the Year 2015. Keir was instructed by Caroline Spencer-Boulton.
