Mark Robinson of the Garden Court Crime Team, acting as junior alone for the client, was instructed by Cleo McClaren of Graceon Law.
The prosecution withdrew the charge of murder after Mark Robinson served an application to dismiss for his client, who was due to be tried at the Old Bailey (Central Criminal Court).
At an earlier case management hearing, Mark made several representations challenging the murder charge against his client and submitted that there was no evidence which demonstrated murderous intent or transferred malice.
Mark subsequently drafted a comprehensive application to dismiss the murder charge. He made submissions based on detailed analysis of CCTV footage and highlighted the evidential gaps relied upon for the charge of murder against his client.
Following the application, the prosecution reviewed the case and discontinued the charge of murder against Mark’s client. All but one defendant will now stand trial for murder, with all co-defendants, including Mark’s client, due to stand trial for the lesser charge of violent disorder at the Old Bailey in 2027.
