Garden Court Chambers is delighted to learn that Stephanie Harrison has been shortlisted as Human Rights and Public Law Junior of the Year in the prestigious Chambers Bar Awards 2012.

Stephanie is well known for her broad human rights expertise, especially in the fields of immigration, discrimination and civil liberties. She is one of a small number of barristers in England and Wales undertaking Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) cases, involving a national security or terrorism issue. She has also acted for clients who have been made the subject of control orders.

In May this year, Stephanie was a finalist in the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards. The judging panel praised her work in establishing that the Home Office is illegally detaining people with serious mental illnesses.

The award winner will be announced at a ceremony on 25 October 2012.

Stephanie Harrison is a senior member of Garden Court Chambers.
