Garden Court congratulates Stephen Lue who has been shortlisted as a finalist for Barrister of the Year at the Resolution Awards 2026.

The Resolution Awards celebrates excellence across all professions in family justice. Resolution is the largest membership organisation for family justice professionals in England and Wales, representing over 6,500 practitioners.

Our warmest congratulations to all those shortlisted for this year’s awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 24 September 2026.

Stephen Lue (Call: 2006)
Stephen Lue is a specialist family law barrister. His practice covers a wide range of applications including public and private children law, financial remedies in divorce cases, international child abduction work and domestic violence. He also acts in Court of Protection cases.

Stephen was shortlisted for the Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards 2025 as Junior Barrister of the Year. Stephen was a member of the Project Advisory Group for the report Racial Bias and the Bench, which has raised urgent questions about racial attitudes and practices in the justice system.

Stephen is a passionate advocate for LGBT rights, Black equality, and supports a number of charities as a trustee, such as Out to Swim, an LGBT+ aquatics charity. Stephen is a volunteer for Diversity Role Models; a charity focused on celebrating the stories of LGBTQ+ professionals in schools. He is a committee member for the Middle Temple LGBT+ forum. Stephen was a mentor with the Duke of Edinburgh Awards’ LGBTQ Youth Programme. He was featured in Attitude Magazine’s Attitude 101 2026 Financial and Legal List.
