Thalia Maragh of the Garden Court Crime Team represented the defendant, instructed by Mark Troman of Powell Spencer & Partners.
Thalia represented the first defendant, a semi-professional footballer of good character.
The prosecution alleged that he was a member of a group that travelled from London to Peterborough, armed with weapons, including a firearm, to rob a cannabis factory.
The prosecution’s case was that this was a part of a wider conspiracy to rob cannabis factories spanning several months.
Following a four-week trial, the jury unanimously acquitted the defendant of firearm charges, conspiracy to kidnap and false imprisonment, conspiracy to rob and steal, and possession of a knife.
