On 19 December 2024, the historic and ground-breaking appeal of Ade Adedeji, one of the Manchester 10, will start. The Court of Appeal will hear fresh evidence and legal submissions from Ade Adedeji’s lawyers as they attempt to persuade the Court of Appeal that his conviction is unsafe.

The case has been extensively reported upon, features in a Channel 4 documentary and has been referred to in the Houses of Parliament.

JUSTICE, a registered charity and all-party membership organisation, with a rich history of reforming the law in the UK, has been granted leave to intervene and make written representations.

In total, four boys convicted of conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH) and three boys convicted of conspiracy to murder, following conversations on a Telegram chat, have been granted leave to appeal against their convictions.

Leave has also been granted for appeal against the sentence for Ademola Adedeji, who was just 17 at the time of the alleged offence and by the time of the appeal he will have been detained for 1154 days [1]. Leave to appeal against sentence was also granted for Raymond Savi and Omolade Okoya.

Keir Monteith KC and Audrey Cherryl Mogan represent Ade Adedeji, instructed by Zachary Whyte of Sperrin Law.
