Sasha Wass KC (6KBW College Hill) and Tommy Seagull, of the Garden Court Crime Team, were instructed by Nathaniel Gadsby of TV Edwards to represent one of six defendants at Birmingham Crown Court.
Following an eight-week multi-handed trial at Birmingham Crown Court, the jury unanimously acquitted Tommy Seagull’s client of attempted murder following a shooting in Birmingham.
The prosecution alleged that the six defendants were part of an organised group prepared to kill individuals unknown to them in return for financial reward.
Tommy represented a defendant alleged to have acted as the getaway driver following a shooting at a gym, where staff and customers were held at gunpoint. The intended target was subsequently pursued in a car chase and repeatedly shot at.
The case involved extensive analysis of CCTV, cell site evidence and telephone communications data. Four co-defendants were convicted of various offences, including attempted murder and a separate conspiracy to murder. The defendants were represented by King’s Counsel, as was the prosecution.
Sasha Wass KC led Tommy Seagull in the case. Counsel instructed by Nathaniel Gadsby of TV Edwards.
