Revenue Controller –  Junior Credit Controller (Full-time/Permanent)

Based within: Revenue Control Team

We are seeking to recruit a meticulous, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Revenue Control Team. This role is to provide assistance and support for Inter Partes (IP) and Conditional Fees Agreement (CFA) debt recovery within Chambers. This will enable a prompt and accurate service to meet the operational requirements of the Barristers.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with the recovery of Inter Partes and CFA fees, as instructed by the Head of Revenue, such as liaising with solicitor firms to obtain update on progress of cases, prompting submission of files to the cost draftsperson for billing of completed cases or checking progress of maintenance work ordered for housing cases
  • Assist with managing the IP and CFA mailboxes
  • Noting IP fee notes rendered to solicitors/cost draftsperson and diarise to check on progress of Bill of Costs (BoC) until served on paying parties
  • Requesting BoC from solicitors/cost draftsperson if not received with Points of Dispute (PoD)
  • Assisting with the cross-referencing of fee notes and BoC and cross-referencing BoC with PoD
  • Diarise to liaise with Counsel to ensure response is received within deadline of replies/offer
  • Once settlement agreed, diarise to pursue payment until received
  • Providing Solicitors/Cost draftsperson with copy fee notes or reduced fee notes as instructed by Head of Revenue
  • Assisting the Head of Revenue with ensuring ongoing CFA cases are appropriately marked in the LEX system
  • Performing ad hoc tasks relevant to the recovery of IP and CFA cases

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • At least 1 years’ experience in Credit Control
  • Must be confident in making telephone calls for fees collection
  • Good systems knowledge, especially Case management systems
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to develop new skills
  • A calm, patient approach to work in a very busy environment
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Professional attitude with good client relationship building skills
  • Good team player
