Freya started her pupillage at Garden Court Chambers in October 2025.
Freya’s first-six supervisor was Greg Ó Ceallaigh KC, and her second six supervisors are Shahida Begum and Greg Ó Ceallaigh KC.
During her first six, Freya drafted civil claims and judicial review applications in out-of-country certification, entry clearance, ARAP, and false imprisonment cases, as well as interim relief grounds following statutory breaches of s.193 Housing Act 1996 and s.42 Children and Families Act 2014.
Before pupillage, Freya led the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative with Refugee Legal Support, working with 14 law firms to reunite Afghan families through the ARAP and ACRS pathways. Her family reunion experience extended to drafting representations, instructing experts and pre-action judicial review in Appendix FM, Refugee FM, Article 8 claims, humanitarian protection and asylum, de facto adoption, and leave outside the rules cases.
Freya was previously a specialist caseworker at Bail for Immigration Detainees in the Adults at Risk and Prison teams, where she represented clients, both in court and on the papers, in their bail applications, deportation matters, and appeals to the First-Tier Tribunal. Freya frequently dealt with s.4, s.95, s.98, CAS3, and Schedule 10 accommodation and assistance matters.
Freya has previously been a guest speaker on Radio 5 Live, ITV London and BBC Radio Bristol discussing immigration detention, asylum, humanitarian protection, No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) conditions, and refugee family reunion. In 2023, Freya ran 2,500 kilometres, including a 200-kilometre non-stop run to Brook House Immigration Removal Centre, to fundraise for Bail for Immigration Detainees.
Freya is recipient of the Inner Temple Major Scholarship, Inner Temple Exhibition Award, King’s College Distinction Award, and accredited with the Immigration Advice Authority as a Level 3 caseworker in Immigration and Asylum.
