Garden Court welcomes children’s rights specialist Sally Ireland to its Public Law Team

We are delighted to announce that Sally Ireland, a human and children’s rights expert, has joined Garden Court Chambers. Sally is the former Chair and current Secretary of the Standing Committee for Youth Justice.

As the former Principal Policy Adviser on children’s rights for the Children’s Commissioner for England, Sally has a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding the powers and duties of public authorities to secure human and children’s rights. Sally also brings experience of criminal law and the justice system, both from her time as a criminal barrister and from her position as Director of Criminal Justice Policy at JUSTICE. In this latter role, Sally led on criminal justice policy, advocacy and strategy as well as Parliamentary and political engagement.

Sally was called to the Bar in 2002. She joins Garden Court Chambers’ Public and Administrative Law, Community Care and Prison Law Teams.
