We are delighted to welcome back Hannah Lynes from parental leave.
Hannah is a member of the Garden Court Chambers Immigration, Public Law, Community Care, Education Law, and Civil Liberties Teams, and is available to accept instructions.
Hannah is a public law practitioner with expertise in refugee and trafficking claims, unlawful detention, asylum support, education law, and prison law.
Prior to joining Chambers, Hannah was a Senior Caseworker at Wilson Solicitors LLP. She has extensive experience in working with vulnerable adults and children and is regularly instructed in a range of asylum and deportation appeals, as well as complex applications for judicial review.
Hannah advises clients in all areas of immigration law. She has a particular interest in representing individuals in their protection and human rights appeals in the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal, including victims of trafficking and those at risk of persecution on account of their political opinion, sexual orientation or gender.
Hannah has appeared regularly in SEND Tribunal appeals relating to Education, Health and Care Plans. She also acts in cases where children and young people challenge failures by a Local Authority to put in place suitable education, to secure provision set out in an EHC Plan, or to conduct an EHC Needs Assessment.
Hannah frequently represents clients in their parole board hearings and in judicial review challenges against parole board decisions, including in relation to prisoner categorisation. She has particular expertise in acting on behalf of those serving sentences of imprisonment for public protection (IPP sentences).
Hannah is co-author of the chapter on Families and Children in the upcoming edition of Macdonald’s Immigration Law and Practice.
