Tetevi’s practice encompasses all areas of criminal defence, including serious violence, drugs and white-collar crime as well as appeals, inquiries and international law. He has an established Crown Court practice and acts privately in the magistrates’ and youth courts. Tetevi is regularly instructed in cases beyond his year of call and has been ranked as a ‘Leading Junior’ in The Legal 500.

Recent instructions include acting as a led junior in a widely-reported conspiracy to possess firearms with intent involving associates of prominent UK music artists “Fredo” and “Digga D”. He has also secured acquittals in a case of fraud and possessing false identity documents and successfully appealed the sentence in the Court of Appeal.

Tetevi has a particular interest in cases with a cross-border dimension. He is currently being led in a multi-handed conspiracy to import cocaine in a case involving the National Crime Agency, Border Force and Metropolitan Police Service. Further, he has been instructed as a junior alone in a conspiracy to breach immigration law involving several Ugandan nationals.

Tetevi has a strong interest in international law. He has previously worked in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Appeals Chamber of the ICTY in The Hague. Further, he has published several articles on transitional justice with leading scholars and has provided a legal opinion to an NGO on the legality of a state’s death penalty practices under international law.

Tetevi was recently awarded the prestigious “Pegasus Scholarship” by the Inner Temple. This award, administered jointly with the École de Formation du Barreau (EFB) in Paris, offers select French-speaking barristers the opportunity to spend time with a law firm in Paris as well as the opportunity to take part in a series of educational events and a mock trial before French judges at the historic Palais de Justice.
