We are delighted to announce that Garden Court barristers have been listed on the Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales 2025.
The Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales, endorsed by the Lady Chief Justice of England & Wales, The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, has now been published. The List recognises barristers and solicitors who gave 25 hours or more pro bono legal assistance over the last year.
30 Garden Court barristers have been listed: Marc Willers KC, David Emanuel KC, Liz Davies KC, Irena Sabic KC, Greg Ó Ceallaigh KC, Helen Curtis, Valerie Easty, David Jones, Abigail Holt, Bojana Asanovic, Kate Aubrey-Johnson, Tim Baldwin, William Tautz, Alex Grigg, Helen Foot, Raza Halim, Paul Clark, Gerwyn Wise, James Holmes, Bijan Hoshi, Una Morris, Susan Wright, Nick Bano, Navida Quadi, Oscar Davies, Acland Bryant, Georgie Rea, Maaha Elahi, Hannah Lynes & Josephine Fathers.
In addition to those listed above, many of our other members frequently take on cases pro bono. We recognise that pro bono work is not a substitute for the crisis in legal aid services. Please see our response to the ‘Civil legal aid: Towards a sustainable future’ consultation here.
We are proud of our longstanding commitment to access to justice, including through our Special Fund. As a Chambers, we have donated over £3 million to small legal, campaigning or charitable organisations undertaking work in defence of civil liberties or access to social justice. Every member of chambers contributes financially to the Special Fund. Most of the organisations we support improve access to justice for disadvantaged, marginalised or vulnerable members of society.
Congratulations to all those recognised on the list. View the full list here.
